How do I start a Bypass Church?

You didn’t come this far to stop!

Step #1 | Where does it all start?

If you are looking at this website, no doubt there is a desire within you to start a different kind of church. This may be the result of gathering weekly with other like-minded followers of Christ who, like yourself, see the need for a new kind of church.

Step #2 | Seeing the Need Through a Biblical Lens

Though your small group is meeting in homes, you see the need to constitute the group into a church. The hope is to formulate your group for the purpose of evangelizing your community, discipling the newly-converted and ministering to the broken and hurting.

Step #3 | A Shared Vision

Though your desire is to start a new church, your next step is also tempered by a shared concern within your group over the traditional church model in America. For example, you are dissatisfied with traditional church budgets often plagued by capital expenditures and staff salaries. As you study the New Testament it is clear to your group that this cultural tendency may be in contradiction to the scripture.

Step #4 | Contacting Bypass Ministries (BPM)

BPM is a non-profit who, not only shares your concerns over the traditional church model often reflective of the consumerism in the west, but is equipped to help you learn the skills needed to follow a more biblical church model. The Bypass Model is an exciting new concept of church growth designed to return the church to her biblical roots and beyond that, to return church expenditures back to the hurting of our communities.

Once your group makes the initial contact, a Bypass Ministries Leadership Representative will set up a meeting to walk you and your group through the process. The representative will be there to answer your questions as well as guiding you through the process of securing a meeting place; organizing a leadership team and learning the Bypass Model.

Step #5 | Making a commitment

The process of establishing a Bypass Satellite is a 24-month relationship. BPM will provide a leadership team coming alongside your leadership team as the two work together to develop worship, discipleship, teaching, preaching and the logistical support to manage a gathering site.

Step #6 | Continued support and encouragement

Once teams are trained, BPM can help your Bypass Church/Satellite with the logistics of establishing a site location, acquiring equipment, etc.
