Guidelines

  • Leadership team is made up of satellite lead members and host church both of which, serve together to maintain headship of a BPS. Note: BPM will serve as consultants to the leadership team.

  • If there is not a host church then BPM will serve in the role of host church.

  • Team leaders who serve in a pastoral role must accept BPM’s process of training and accountability and further, accept the “vow of simplicity” as their career path. *See blog

Leadership

Initial Training
  • Training is mandatory and critical to an effective start of a BPS

  • BPM will provide a conference to introduce, equip and train those who wish to be part of the initial core group.

  • Identify a CORE group at the satellite site

  • Core defined as members who are committed-obedient-responsible-encourager

  • If core group is interested after attending the conference or a visit by the BPM leadership to their local church

  • The process of moving forward will begin

  • Core group will enter into a 24-month relationship with additional training, accountability and the initial set-up of the satellite.

Long-Term Leadership of a Bypass Satellite
  • Made up of sponsor church team and / or possible initial contacts on satellite site.

  • Again, it can not be stressed enough that refusal by site prospects to work with and at times, under the auspices of the BPM team will jeopardize BPM identification and affiliation.

  • “Jeopardize” meaning the failure to follow the guidelines of BPM and more, to maintain accountability with the host church and BPM team.

  • “Accountability” means attending the BPM conference and attending regular weekly discipleship by the BPM team and any other smaller formats of training.

Satellite Sites

  • Buildings are to be acquired through gifting or rent.

  • Buildings used for BPM satellites much be simple, large, open with areas for worship, children and bathroom facilities.

  • Liability and the expenses of maintaining a location for services are to be managed by the satellite and the host church not by the one providing the venue.

  • There are to be no attempts to purchase property due to the conflict created with BPM purpose statement. The cost of capital expenditures both in acquiring the property, building the building and the maintenance required thereafter are the very reason the modern day church is where it is. Again, keep in mind that the amount of revenue required to maintain buildings, insurance and general upkeep cripples most churches and limits their ability to do ministry. Note: All of which tie up vast percentages of church budgets with non-essentials and can be an “end in itself”.
