Discover how Bypass Ministries can revolutionize the church by avoiding cultural consumerism and focusing on developing tools for simplified church starts and need-based ministries.

How can this be accomplished? Much like the great reformers in the past, we must re-think church by mobilizing a body of believers around the Great Commission, discipleship and ministry to the broken and hurting. Beyond that, to develop a link between affluent suburban areas through church starts (satellites) in the Bypass model. Meaning much like a heart bypass, now critical resources, rather than being bogged down in buildings, budgets and extensive staff, are rerouted to the critical needs of our cities.

Churches in our cities, many of which may be struggling with limited resources are now linked to satellites sitting on the perimeter of our major metropolitan areas with the tools to assist. Think about it, rather than investing in, for example, buildings, (Bypass) satellites are housed in factories, warehouses, businesses avoiding the cost of purchase, upkeep, insurance, etc.

Furthermore, a leadership team is compiled through the relationship of the satellite to the inner city work with guidance and assistance provided by Bypass Ministries. Again, this model avoids the bulk of most church budgets which centers around buildings, extensive staff and often exorbitant salaries and packages. Staff that serve in a Bypass satellite are content to live a life of simplicity which will be explained in a later blog and further may be, bi-vocational.

This style of pastoral leadership is much more in line with the New Testament model and puts a team of likeminded leaders on the frontline of reaching our cities. This cooperation of suburb and city links directly the resources to strengthen and solidify both evangelism and ministry.
